Teacher Joel Lemer has been instrumental in creating an agriculture education program at Carrington High School in Carrington that is responsive to changes in the community and the field. In Mr. Lemer's Agriculture Education Co-Op Placement Program, the school works closely with employers throughout the region to provide seniors with hands-on training and work experience with companies that correspond to their professional interests. This program served as a partial model for the region's five-school consortium school-to-work program, which he initiated and for which he recently received funding for full implementation. Mr. Lemer also co-developed an eighth-grade career development curriculum that has received funding for statewide availability.
