Jennifer Murphy began her career in education as a 4th and 5th grade teacher at Sayre Elementary School in South Lyon, Michigan. After being honored with the Milken Award in 2002, she completed her Masters Degree in Educational Leadership at Eastern Michigan University. In 2004, she took on the position of principal of Sayre Elementary School. When a teaching position in the district's Academically Talented program opened in 2015, she returned to the classroom at Brummer Elementary School to pursue her passion for challenging gifted students.
