Choral arts teacher Jay Forrest has created a premier choral music program at Clover High School in Clover. His comprehensive curriculum promotes technical proficiency, self-discipline and teamwork among the 250-plus students in his four different choral groups. The award-winning Clover High Choraliers, an auditioned ensemble, sings for sell-out audiences at concerts and festivals, competes statewide, and has performed with the Charlotte Symphony. Mr. Forrest began "Circle of Friends," an introductory music program for profoundly mentally handicapped students that promotes interaction with regular education students. Funds raised by the Choral Booster Club subsidize Mr. Forrest's co-curricular Vocal Academy for individual voice instruction. Lead teacher for the junior high and middle school choral programs, Mr. Forrest also works with a non-profit group for homeless families and is the choir director at a local church.
