Hubert Hersey, an educator for 44 years and a recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science, teaches physics at St. George's School in Middletown. As an Advanced Placement Physics Consultant for the College Board, Mr. Hersey has presented more than 40 A.P. physics workshops in the United States and abroad. His workshops have repeatedly inspired physics teachers throughout the country to develop their own Advanced Placement programs. At St. George's School, Mr. Hersey has turned what was once a two-student physics course into a vibrant program serving 90% of the student body. "We now offer four levels of physics," says Mr. Hersey, "all of which utilize computer programs, such as Interactive Physics and Workshop Physics, and which take advantage of the students' love for, and knowledge of, modern technology."
