"In all programs that I initiate, I consider the students' interests first and how a particular program will help them in becoming productive citizens," says Ginny (Krauszer) Sharp, principal of Rincon Middle School in Escondido. As the regional coordinator for Partnership Schools in the San Diego area, Ms. (Krauszer) Sharp has developed a network for 11 area schools to implement key middle school teaching strategies and to systematically address educational challenges of the 21st Century. At both the local and the state levels, Ms. (Krauszer) Sharp has worked to guide the promotion and development of the middle school concept. Her responsibilities include the creation of staff in-service programs and middle school curriculum development. She is currently serving as an advisor to 10 middle schools that have recently become involved in Partnership Schools. This year, Ms. (Krauszer) Sharp also introduced Safety Net, a support program designed to assist students whose academic and/or behavioral needs warrant particular attention.
