As principal of Douglas High School in Douglas, Gale Lane has made the expression "Do What's Right" the watchwords of the school. Team effort and cooperation are the cornerstones of the Successful School-Student Experience model that Mr. Lane has implemented to handle both administrative and instructional procedures. Under Mr. Lane's leadership, the faculty and staff at Douglas High School have developed teams that address the areas of guidance, academic and peer intervention, and career and vocational direction. An educator for 36 years, Mr. Lane has served widely on professional organizations, and he has recently collaborated on the text for the administrative guidelines in the training of secondary school principals. Mr. Lane stresses the importance of ongoing professional development and collaboration and is currently working with other educators on a study that addresses the topic of professional resiliency.
