So his students would learn to value the perspectives of cultural history and the impact of social behavior, beliefs and attitudes, Frank D. Gawle incorporated drama and real life into his social studies curriculum at Enfield High School. An advocate of integrated and quality public education for all children, Mr. Gawle was chairman of the Education Enhancement Steering Committee and an active member of the Teacher Evaluation Committee. He was nominated to serve on the Social Science Standard Setting Advisory Committee for Connecticut's CONTENT program. In 1988 he was both Connecticut and Enfield Teacher of the Year.
