Florence Kidd is director of middle schools for the Nashville Metropolitan Schools in Nashville. Previously, she was principal of Head Middle School in Nashville, which in 1989 was named a National School of Excellence by the U.S. Department of Education. Kidd has been awarded the Round Table Award from Vanderbilt University and an Educator Award from the National Conference of Christians and Jews. She strives for professional and personal excellence, saying, "My task is to assure that my goals and objectives for educating our children are met."
