Eric Wertheimer is principal of South Kingstown High School in Wakefield. In addition to having served as president of the Todd Morsilli Fund, Mr. Wertheimer also founded the Governor's Committee on Youth Alcohol and Substance Abuse, which gained the financial support of the business community to fund a two-day conference for students, teacher, and administrators from throughout Rhode Island to discuss the issues surrounding substance abuse in schools. Under Mr. Wertheimer's guidance, South Kingstown High School was recognized with an Excellence in Education Award for 1987-88 by the United States Department of Education. The school was also one of five schools in the U.S. to be profiled by the NEA Journal, Today's Education, in their "Panorama of Excellence" feature for 1984-85. Following retirement, Eric ventured in to photography and is now a successful professional photographer capturing the beauty of what is around us and within us.
