Eric Kessler is as an instructor of biology, field biology, zoology and AP biology at Blue Valley North High School and is director of Blue Valley School District’s new bioscience program at the Center for Advanced Professional Studies. As an educator, he enjoys offering students a variety experiences that will aid them in their understanding of the process of science while gaining specific insight into the “mystery of mysteries” that we call life. Kessler holds undergraduate degrees from the University of Texas Austin in zoology and in psychology, and from the University of Missouri Kansas City in education. He obtained a master's in biology from Emporia State University, and has subsequently earned National Board Certification. Kessler was recognized as the Blue Valley School District's Secondary Teacher of the Year, Radioshack National Teacher, and Kansas Biology Teacher of the Year. He has been awarded numerous educational grants and maintains active membership in the Kansas Association of Biology Teachers and Kansas Herpetological Society.
