Music director Elden T. Seta motivates his students to attain superior levels of achievement in all areas of study at Moanalua High School in Honolulu. More honor roll students are enrolled in music than in any other school program. Under Mr. Seta's direction, the music program has experienced unprecedented growth and success: enrollment has increased, the Moanalua High School Symphony Orchestra was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall (the first high school orchestra ever to be awarded the honor), and the school's Symphonic Wind Ensemble was recently selected to represent the United States in the prestigious 2004 International Band Festival in Japan. During the past ten years, Mr. Seta has been selected by the Moanalua High School Student Association as the Outstanding Teacher of the Year on three occasions.
