Elaine Rosenfield, a third-grade teacher at Sinsheimer Elementary School in San Luis Obispo, believes the technology of the classroom should keep up with that of the outside world. To this end she has become a specialist on the use of computers in elementary instruction. Her concern about curriculum reform extends to the state level: she helped to develop the Mathematics Model Curriculum Guide for kindergarten through grade eight, and she has served as a member of both the Instructional Materials Evaluation Panel and the Advisory Board of the California Mathematics Project.
