Dr. Todd Shipp is principal of Twiggs County Comprehensive Middle-High School in Jeffersonville. Previously an assistant principal at Lamar County Elementary and Middle Schools, Dr. Shipp was also instructional lead teacher at Lamar County Middle School. Other positions held by Dr. Shipp include executive director of the Middle Georgia Consortium, Inc., a job training program in Macon, and executive director of Communities in Schools of Georgia, Inc. for the Bibb County Board of Education in Macon. When Dr. Shipp began his teaching career at Lamar County Elementary after nine years of service in the U.S. Army, his students gained firsthand knowledge about the Persian Gulf War. Dr. Shipp also taught science and history at Weaver Middle School in Macon. Part of his significant impact on his students was due to his focus on the importance of technology, and frequent use of computers as a research tool. His concern for his students has always extended beyond the classroom. He attends their chorus and band concerts, sporting events and academic tournaments. Dr. Shipp is also active in his community, visiting nursing homes and working with disabled students.
