Since Martin Jacobs became principal of Liberty High School in Liberty in 1985, the school has undergone considerable improvements. Dr. Jacobs was instrumental in the passage of a recent bond measure to enlarge and renovate the school, including the installation of Liberty's $2 million technology system. Liberty High School-where teachers receive technology training before they get their computers-was also one of the first schools in Missouri to print its school newspaper using desktop publishing software and hardware. While he spends much of his time supervising "mock trials" for his students, Dr. Jacobs has also improved discipline at Liberty through a Saturday School program in which he participates every week.
