Dr. LeRoy Hay is now retired after an educational career of over 50 years. Dr. Hay was the U.S. National Teacher of the Year in 1983, and was a speaker and workshop presenter in over 40 states. He was a teacher of English, Assistant Superintendent, and Superintendent of Schools in his career as well as an adjunct instructor at Boston College and the University of Connecticut. He was also the Director of Connecticut’s Alternate Route to Teacher Certification program and an Education Associate for the Connecticut Association of School Administrators. In 2000-2001, he served as president of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD). Currently he is the President of the Board of Directors of the Community Child Guidance Clinic and School in Manchester, CT and is the volunteer manager of the Cornerstone Food Cupboard in Rockville, CT.
