Klaire Pirtle, principal at Kingsbury Middle School, believes in educating by entertaining. While at Gardnerville Elementary School in Douglas County School, where she was principal until 1988, Dr. Pirtle inspired learning through programs such as "Friday Frolics," "Catch a Child Being Good" and a celebration of Basque Day. She also encouraged many parents, grandparents and senior citizens to volunteer in the school. Children are her priority, and she focuses on broadening their horizons at all times. Dr. Pirtle has also served as chairperson of the local administrators' group and is active on the curriculum council.
