In 27 years as an educator, Kathleen Garber, principal of Rockdale County High School in Conyers, has been a teacher, a staff development instructor, and an administrator. She has also received numerous awards, including a Middle School Principal of the Year Award from the Georgia Association of Educational Leaders in 1989, and an Excellence in Leadership Award from the Georgia Board of Education, also in 1989. Dr. Garber's leadership has also brought awards to the schools where she has been principal, most notably Edwards Middle School, which was named a Georgia School of Excellence three times during her tenure. Dr. Garber's expertise and eloquence make her a frequent presenter at professional conferences.
