Prior to his recent appointment as assistant principal and technology coordinator of Dyersburg Primary School in Dyersburg, third-generation educator John Lowrance taught eighth-grade science and reading at Dyersburg Middle School for eighteen years. During his tenure there, he served as the school's technology coordinator and science department chair, as well as the district's curriculum development facilitator, helping to devise the guidelines for city schools to use in developing state- and nationally-aligned curriculum objectives. Chair of numerous organizations, including Dyersburg Middle School's accreditation steering committee and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), Dr. Lowrance served three terms as president of the Dyersburg Education Association.
