During his 20 years as an educator, Eddie L. Davis, principal of Weaver High School in Hartford, has believed that the bottom line is student performance. His work to give students and teachers the tools to succeed includes establishing the Winners Program, which provides accelerated support training to students who would otherwise be placed in remedial learning classes. In professional development workshops, his faculty shares information on instructional content, topical expertise and presentation technique. His leadership skills have been recognized by the Hartford Principals and Supervisors Association, for which he serves as president. In 1990 he was named a Connecticut Celebration of Excellence advocate and in 1984 he was an Education Policy Fellowship Program Fellow.
