Debra White-Hunt is far more than a dance and physical education teacher at Martin Luther King, Jr. Senior High in Detroit. Among other accomplishments, she has used dance and physical fitness as an educational tool for young mothers and pregnant teens; produced a video for pregnant teenagers; directed student performances at New York City's Apollo Theatre; developed behind the desk stress relief programs for executives; and created a series of urban art camps for inner-city youths. Ms. White-Hunt, one of only seven Americans selected as a John F. Kennedy Center Arts Fellow, was named Michigan Dance Association Teacher of the Year.
