Deborah Gladding Willard serves as lead social studies teacher at Glastonbury High School. Ms. Willard believes her greatest service to students lies in teaching them to think critically. "Teaching thinking skills is more important than passing on any specific body of information, because once a person understands how to learn, this methodology can be applied to any discipline." She extends her own professional education through participation in the Education Policy Fellowship Program. Her high expectations for all students distinguished her as a member of Connecticut's Common Core of Learning Committee.
