Deborah Anderson is a resource learning teacher at Walter S. Christopher School for the Physically Handicapped in Chicago. A 20-year veteran of the classroom, Ms. Anderson believes that being accessible to students and parents has always been key to her success as a teacher. She sees her challenge as giving her students an opportunity to do their best. Ms. Anderson's fundraising efforts have brought to life such programs as "Reading Improvement Through Literature" and the annual "Ortho Olympics." Recognizing the benefits of direct alliance with the private sector, she is leading efforts to find a business or organization to "adopt" her school.
