At Cheyenne Central High School, math teacher DeAnn E. Eisenhart encourages students to take responsibility for their own education, integrating differentiated instruction tailored to various learning styles. Mrs. Eisenhart co-developed the school's Honors Algebra 2 program for accelerated sophomore students, and co-wrote and received a grant for an Accelerated Math Program in which students progress at a pace determined by personal ability level. As chair of the Math Department and co-chair of the School Improvement Steering Committee, Mrs. Eisenhart helped revise the school's grading policy, aligning it with that of regional districts. In addition to working on a number of professional development committees, Mrs. Eisenhart helped revise the state mathematics standards for grades K-12 during the last year.
