In the 11 years since science teacher David Vito created the Science Fair program at North Attleborough High School in North Attleborough, his students have gone on to win numerous awards at both regional and state science fairs, including a number of blue ribbons. Mr. Vito also created the Science Committee, a student club dedicated to promoting science education among the youth of the community. Members of the club conduct recycling drives, tutor and mentor other students, and judge at middle and elementary school science fairs. Last year, as part of Mr. Vito's exploration into the realm of geology, students in his Research in Science class unearthed 300 million-year-old fossils in a nearby town.
