As principal of Billings West High School in Billings, David Irion has overseen the development and implementation of a wide variety of programs and projects. A privately funded computer laboratory and fully automated library is on-site for the use of students, parents and community. In a related effort of Mr. Irion, the school is currently organizing an education technology in-service to introduce its 180 staff members to the new facilities. "Job-Shadow Project," another program implemented under the principal's leadership, allows junior and senior students to spend time with mentors from the community. In the "Medical Careers" program, seniors daily attend a local hospital, where they learn about every aspect of the medical profession. Designed for urban ad agriculturalists, the "Urban Ag" program offers students the opportunity to work in a greenhouse setting at a zoo and in landscaping.
