David Gillam, retired from NJ BEgich Middle School in Anchorage, has influenced not only the students in his own classroom, but those in his colleagues' classrooms as well through his professional development activities in math and science. He continues to support the science community in Alaska as the coordinator for the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. An educator for over 30 years, Mr. Gillam taught in same district as his mother, who taught kindergarten.
