Prior to moving to the district office as a curriculum coordinator, David Foster taught math, science and reading to fifth graders at North Springs Elementary School in Columbia. Mr. Foster attaches great significance to his work with the South Carolina Teacher Forum, an organization composed of all District Teachers of the Year in the state. "This organization," he says, "provides the opportunity for teachers to become leaders in education without having to leave the classroom or join administration." Mr. Foster now serves middle and high school English- Language Arts teachers in Richland District Two as a curriculum coordinator and helping them attain state and national recognition in the areas of school transformation, professional development, technology integration and student achievement.
