Danny Prado, Spanish teacher at Moundsville Junior High School in Moundsville, creates many avenues for learning language. For the past 20 years, he has guided students on a 10-day educational tour of Mexico that provides his predominantly non-Hispanic student body with a total immersion course in the Hispanic culture. Each spring, he coordinates Fiesta Grande, a night when students, staff, parents and the community gather to sample Spanish and Mexican cuisine and enjoy the culture's art, music and dancing. An ardent supporter of education technology, Mr. Prado engages his students in long-distance learning projects using the Internet, including an interactive educational Web site called "MayaQuest."
