Christine Moore-Goad is a general education teacher to the third grade students of Orchard Park Elementary School in Kettering. A recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Elementary Science Teaching in 1992, Ms. Moore-Goad has also received the Montgomery County Excellence in Teaching Award for l992. She has received several grants including a Hooked on Reading Team Grant in 1991, an E.V. Jotter Environmental Grant also in 1991, and a Project Invent Team Grant in 1992. Ms. Moore-Goad strives to better herself by conducting and attending continuing education workshops. "For me, it is a personal challenge," she says, "to develop a teaching program that will motivate my students, share my enthusiasm for learning, and instill in them an appreciation and pride in their ability to progress that will span a lifetime."
