Chayna Adams is a dedicated educational leader who fosters a culture of pride, respect, and commitment among students and staff. As the Public Relations Director for Hancock County School District (HCSD), she plays a pivotal role in highlighting student achievements, strengthening community partnerships, and promoting the district’s mission. In addition to overseeing district communications, Adams serves as the Director of the Hancock Performing Arts Center, where she spearheads innovative programs that engage students, staff, and the community in the arts.
Before transitioning into district leadership, Adams spent over a decade in the classroom as a high school math teacher, lead teacher, and assistant principal. Her instructional leadership was rooted in data-driven decision-making, personalized learning strategies, and strong relationships with students. As an algebra teacher, she implemented creative, hands-on learning techniques, leading to significant student growth and achievement. She also played a key role in curriculum alignment, professional development, and instructional coaching for teachers at both the school and state levels.
Adams’ commitment to student success extends beyond the classroom. She has led professional learning communities (PLCs), presented at state and national conferences, and collaborated with the Mississippi Department of Education to enhance math instruction statewide. Her leadership in educational innovation continues in HCSD, where she champions initiatives that support student motivation, engagement, and academic growth.
Adams earned a bachelor’s in mathematics from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2009 and a master’s in educational leadership from Arkansas State University in 2014.
