Charlotte Cornish is district technology coordinator for the Choctaw County School District in Hattiesburg. Before taking this position in 2003, Cornish was a gifted education teacher, administering the Program for Academic and Creative Enrichment (PACE) for grades 2-6 at Ackerman Elementary School in Ackerman. It was there that Cornish obtained grant funding for Project RTL: Research to the Limit, which provided students with technological tools for effective research and multimedia presentations. She also created Ackerman's peer tutoring system. A member of the committee that developed the district's technology plan, Cornish often helped colleagues troubleshoot their computers and incorporate new learning tools into their curricula. Several of Cornish's students have been finalists in the state's Future Problem Solving program, in which students compete to find creative solutions to real-world problems.
