As principal of Happy Valley High School in Elizabethton, former music teacher, math teacher, and band director Bob Kerley brings nearly 40 years of educational experience to the small rural school. Mr. Kerley oversees the operation of several programs designed to strengthen students' learning experience, notably two programs sponsored by the National Honor Society: the Governor's Study Partner Program pairs students in need of extra help with student tutors and allows them to make their own arrangements regarding when, where and how long they meet; and the ACT Review program provides training and preparation for maximum success on the standardized American College Testing exam
