Barbara Neureither has taught science at Holt High School for 19 years. Her creative approach to teaching is evidenced by a program she developed in which outstanding high school seniors learn to design and then teach elementary science units based on the conceptual change model of learning. Ms. Neureither was also a key member of a team that developed plans for a restructured school week to provide time for teachers to work together as collaborators and to take part in a variety of research projects being conducted in partnership with Michigan State University. Ms. Neureither's Science Olympiad teams have won seven consecutive regional championships, two state championships, and a fifth place at the national level.
