Biographical Information

Annette is a senior instructor of mathematics at Culver Academy and spends much of her time educating fellow teachers as well as her students. Having completed training in a program entitled "Discrete Math - Teachers Teaching Teachers," Mrs. Hildebrandt then went on to use what she had learned in leading in-service training for other teachers and community members. She also participated in a National Science Foundation program entitled "Teachers as Leaders: Launching Mathematics Education into the Nineties" and was a 2014 Unsung Heros Fellow. For her students, Ms. (Hagelberg) Hildebrandt implements hands-on applied mathematics courses, which often involve presentations by members of the local business community. Annette has recently participated in a summer internship program in Arusha, Tanzania teaching and putting on professional development at the School of Saint Jude. She was also a member of a traveling team of teachers on exchange with Brazil and the Bradesco Foundation. Annette spent two weeks in Brazil traveling to schools that the Bradesco Foundation supports learning about the culture and sharing teaching expertise.
