Stephanie E. Bishop is now Vice President of the Milken Educator Awards for the Milken Family Foundation. Prior to joining the team at the Foundation, she was Director of Secondary Education for Prince George County Public Schools in Prince George County, Virginia. Previously, she was principal at J.E.J. Moore Middle School in Disputanta, Virginia. At the time of the award, she was a theatre arts teacher and fine arts department chair at Prince George High School in Prince George, where she created an award-winning theater arts program. Bishop taught students all aspects of theater, including writing, directing and proper use of voice and diction, and involved the entire school community in her program by encouraging faculty participation in productions, coordinating fundraisers with the PTA and spearheading an area arts festival. Her students won district, regional and state competitions with their plays and productions, and several were selected to attend the prestigious Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities. In addition to her accomplishments in drama, Bishop has developed courses and curricula in women's studies and film.
