Teach Nebraska: MilkeN Cookies

Teach Nebraska is excited about empowering outstanding educators to lead, inspire and make a real impact in their schools and communities. Our long-term goal is to attract, develop and keep the best teaching talent in the state of Nebraska. One of our favorite ways to bring energetic, dynamic Nebraska Milken Educators together is through MilkeN Cookies where we gather monthly to connect, collaborate and grow together—both professionally and personally. At each gathering, we brainstorm fresh ideas, share diverse perspectives and provide support as we strive to elevate one another in our educational career journeys. Our group includes a wide range of educators from across Nebraska—elementary, middle, and high school teachers, private school educators, university faculty and staff, educational leaders, and experts in career and technical education. This diversity brings a unique mix of insights and experiences, creating a space that is both creative and purpose-driven.

Our collaboration extends beyond our own growth; we are committed to elevating education across the state. By engaging with state leaders such as senators, members of Congress, and the commissioner of the Nebraska Department of Education, we work to influence policy and practice.

We also participate in professional development events, including statewide leadership dinners with nationally recognized speakers, and present together at conferences such as the Nebraska Association of Teachers of Science’s gathering.

In the midst of this important work, our meetings offer moments to pause, "take five," and unwind. We enjoy snacks, reflect on our progress, and find comfort in a community that feels like family. MilkeN Cookies is more than just a professional group—it’s a personal support system built on a shared passion for students, learning, and the field of education. We truly are each other's PPLC—Professional and Personal Learning Community.
