Creating Connections to Inspire Future Educators

Creating Connections to Inspire Future Educators

The Oklahoma Milken Educators joined forces with the goal of fostering relationships that would motivate and support future educators. As we collaborated on our mission to create connections to inspire future educators, we conducted several virtual meetings via Zoom, along with an in-person gathering in Oklahoma City, to strategize the design and objectives of our AME initiative.

The Oklahoma Milken Network has engaged in multiple discussions with Northeastern State University and has established a partnership. Oklahoma Milken Educators are mentoring first-year teachers. The mentoring began while the mentees were completing their student teaching, with the mentors providing guidance and support throughout the student teaching experience and the interview process. We are excited to advance our AME Project as we aim to mentor more prospective and first-year teachers in the future.

Oklahoma Milken Educators had numerous Zoom planning meetings with Dr. Jane Foley (IN ’94) and Stephanie Bishop (VA ’01) to discuss plans and next steps.

Amanda Raupe (OK ‘16), Hailey Couch (OK ‘18), Dr. Sarah Vann (OK ‘11), Shelley Self (OK ‘05) and Tamarah Danzy (OK ‘21) enjoyed a great evening at Hefner Grill at the Oklahoma Milken Educator in-person planning event in OKC.

This is our Milken Mentor Program description that is given to our mentees and to prospective NSU students.
