Maine Milken Educators Share the Joy

The Maine Network Project, "Share the Joy," is dedicated to enhancing the teaching journey for preservice teachers by connecting them with Maine Milken Educators and their expertise in the profession. Through a combination of virtual and in-person panels, tailored to specific questions from preservice teachers, we offer valuable insights, perspectives and practical advice to future educators. Our program includes pre- and post-surveys to gauge the needs and progress of preservice educators, while also cultivating a growing library of resources to support them in their teaching careers. Additionally, we provide certificates of attendance to recognize their participation and commitment to furthering the educational profession in the state.

In the first year of “Share the Joy” panel presentations, we saw remarkable success, with 91.5% of participants rating the events a 4 or 5 in terms of impact. This represents an 11.5% increase from our initial event at the University of Maine. Feedback from attendees highlighted the positive influence of these sessions. “It was a nice reminder that there are teachers out there who do still love their job after years in the field,” noted a preservice teacher. “There is a ton of negativity in the profession of teaching, and we need to hear the good things to stay positive!” Such responses underscore the program’s effectiveness in uplifting and inspiring future educators.
