Stacie Yokhana, You're a MI Milken Educator

 

After the assembly, fashion design teacher Stacie Yokhana tries to piece together what's just happened. It's not every day that a foundation shows up to present a teacher with an important national honor! 

Thanks to an innovative partnership with General Motors (GM), Stacie’s students leave her classroom with marketable industrial sewing skills coveted by local auto, boat and recreational vehicle manufacturing companies. Her classes are always full, with enrollment growing every year, and GM partners say Stacie's students graduate with similar skills as the company’s on-site adult trainees.
