Jennie Schmaltz Wins CO Milken Award

 

 

Lowell Milken, chairman and co-founder of the Milken Family Foundation, thanks Milken Educator Award recipient Jennie Schmaltz for making teaching her chosen profession. "On behalf of the people of Aurora, the people of Colorado, and the people of America, we want to thank you for the important work that you do," he says. Teachers, Milken adds, are "the unsung heroes who make life more secure for students every day." Schmaltz splits her time between teaching third grade and serving as Elkhart Elementary's Teacher Partner, providing instructional coaching for colleagues.
