Dr. Jane Foley, senior vice president of the Milken Educator Awards, tells the assembly that one of their teachers is about to receive a prestigious Milken Educator Award — and a substantial cash prize. She brings up student volunteers to spell out the amount of the Award. Is it $250? How about $2,500? Pennsylvania Secretary of Education Pedro A. Rivera brings up the final zero and the crowd finally sees the full amount: $25,000!
