OVERLAND PARK, KS—It’s a big day at Blue Valley West High School—the gymnasium is packed with excited students and special visitors are on hand. No one expects the excitement that unfolds when Milken Educator Awards Founder Lowell Milken takes the microphone and shares a big surprise: One teacher is about to receive a Milken Educator Award and $25,000! Watch as he names 11th grade social studies teacher Alex Lahasky a 2023-24 Kansas Milken Educator. Kansas Commissioner of Education Dr. Randy Watson and U.S. Representative Sharice Davids joined us to celebrate Alex in front of his incredibly proud students and colleagues.
