Lowell Milken Launches Journey to 3,000 Milken Educators With Three Surprises in Arkansas

ARKANSAS — Earlier this month, Lowell Milken, founder of the Milken Educator Awards, traveled to Arkansas to surprise three outstanding teachers with life-changing recognition and $25,000 checks in front of their students and colleagues, visiting dignitaries, and local media. The celebrations launched a historic, nationwide tour journeying to the presentation of our 3,000th Milken Educator. In the blink of an eye, everything changed for math and computer science teacher Michael Tapee at Hellstern Middle School in Springdale, sixth grade ELA teacher Ashley Post at Greenbrier Middle School, and social studies teacher Andrew Harrison at Mayflower High School!
