Biographical Information

A recipient of the 1994 Future Leaders Award in Math Education, Annette Hagelberg, math teacher at West Delaware High School in Manchester, spends much of her time educating fellow teachers as well as her students. Having completed training in a program entitled "Discrete Math - Teachers Teaching Teachers," Ms. Hagelberg then went on to use what she had learned in leading in-service training for other teachers and community members. She also participated in a National Science Foundation program entitled "Teachers as Leaders: Launching Mathematics Education into the Nineties." For her students, Ms. Hagelberg implements hands-on applied mathematics courses, which often involve presentations by members of the local business community.
