Biographical Information
Deborah Grinnage-Pulley is executive director of school operations for Calvert County Public Schools in Prince Fredrick. Previously, Grinnage-Pulley served as director of secondary curriculum and instruction for the district, overseeing all middle and high schools in Calvert County. Grinnage-Pulley collaborated with other administrators and facilitated staff in the design, implementation and measurement of curriculum and instruction plans. She also observed instruction at individual schools and conferred with school principals on how to improve student learning. When she became principal of Calvert Middle School in Prince Fredrick in 1997, Grinnage-Pulley created an environment in which standardized test scores increased steadily and she helped to close the gap between the test scores of minority and non-minority students. In 2001, she received a Governor's Citation for instructional leadership from the Maryland State Department of Education and the Washington Post Distinguished Educational Leadership Award.
