Biographical Information
In 1998, as a classroom teacher, Jon Frey applied his passion and commitment to a struggling debate program with fewer than ten members at Central High School in Aberdeen. He qualified students to the National Speech & Debate Tournament each year of his coaching career. For his excellence in coaching, the National Forensic League honored Mr. Frey with the distinction of Double Diamond Key Coach. As a history and American Government teacher, Mr. Frey's students would gain the benefit of his love of American history through simulations and discovery-centered activities on a wide array of topics such as the American Presidency, the Gilded Age and the space race. He frequently integrated technology into his curriculum and served as the Aberdeen School District's first webmaster. In 2008, Mr. Frey accepted a position as Assistant Principal at Columbus High School in Columbus, Nebraska. At Columbus, he supervises the World Language, Fine Arts, English and Physical Education departments as well as the sophomore and junior classes.
