Biographical Information
Gail Wortmann, developer and teacher of Anatomy and Physiology at Iowa Learning Online, ignites her students' passion for learning through a thematic, inquiry-based curriculum that incorporates real-world case studies and integrates cutting-edge technology. Not surprisingly, many of her students have entered the health care profession after graduation. For many years, Mrs. Wortmann led students in a campaign to raise community awareness of organ and tissue donation through research, news articles and public service announcements. A member of several professional organizations, she mentors new teachers nationwide via the Web and e-mail and has given numerous presentations on integrating technology in the classroom.
