Biographical Information

Suzanne Craig is director of world languages education for the Oklahoma State Department of Education in Oklahoma. A National Board Certified teacher, Craig was previously a sixth- and eighth-grade Spanish language teacher at Summit Middle School in Edmond, where she likened her role to that of a hostess at a party that requires months of planning. She used games, songs, and props such as giant telephones into which students said their telephone number in Spanish. She was chair of the school's Professional Development Committee, participated in its Improvement Committee, and served on the board of directors of the Oklahoma Foreign Language Teachers Association.
