Biographical Information

Rosemarie Smith is principal of the Amelia Earhart School in Provo. Previously, Smith was principal of Timpanogos Elementary School, also in Provo, where her innovations included a technology lab and a technology-based reading program for kindergarten students. Smith also implemented a year-round school schedule, developed programs and services for "at-risk" students, encouraged teachers to make home visits to every student, and established numerous partnerships with local businesses, community groups and nearby Brigham Young University. During Smith's tenure, students achieved a significant rise in test scores.
